Foundation Ministries - Reaching people worldwide with the good news of Jesus Christ

Darrel and Penny Davis are committed to reaching people where they are with the good news of Jesus Christ through Harvest Evangelism. Unfortunately, we are unable to respond to every ministry request that we receive for various reasons. If you are considering inviting Foundation Ministries to your country for evangelism, please consider the following guidelines:

FINANCIAL

Our goal is to help build the body of Christ on a local level and encourage churches to take ownership in the work of the gospel. Therefore, we require the participating local churches to sacrifice financially in reaching the masses with the gospel. This may seem impossible to those who have little faith. However, if God is leading you to invite our team, He will also supply the resources to reach the people.

We recognize that each national situation is different. Once a budget is established, we will work with your local planning committee to determine the amount that you are capable of giving in order to reach your area with the good news. Please do not contact us if you have no intention of helping cover some of the costs of the local ministry. We do not have unlimited resources and we don't believe in giving handouts!

CHURCH INVOLVEMENT

We believe in uniting the Body of Christ for evangelism. Because of our limited time and resources, we can not come at the invitation of just one pastor, church, denomination, or ministry. If you feel a burden for evangelism, surely there are people around you who have that same burden. Therefore, we suggest that you contact the key pastors, Christian business leaders, and lay persons in your area and begin praying about issuing an invitation to our ministry.

Once you all have determined that God is leading your group to invite our team, a letter of invitation, signed by the key pastors and leaders of the area, should be sent to Foundation Ministries for our confirmation and consideration. (This does not mean that we are committed to your area. It means that we will seek God's will and reply to your request soon afterward.)

DISCIPLESHIP REQUIREMENTS

We believe in responsible evangelism which includes follow-up for each decision. Participating churches need to commit counselors to the evangelism effort and train them to follow up the decisions made. In addition, each church should offer a class for the new believers which will familiarize them with basic Christian beliefs and the practices of the local church. In some situations, churches may need to be prepared to start new house churches in an area in order to provide follow-up.

Follow up begins with the invitation. Counselors are stationed throughout the crowd during the message and begin to move to the altar area with the inquirers during the time of invitation. When instructed by the evangelist, counselors will take down contact and decision information for each person responding on provided forms. They will also distribute special follow-up books that will help the new believer understand their decision. The contact information is given to the counselor chairman who will distribute them to the nearby churches for follow-up. If possible each counselor should also contact the people whom they counseled within three days for encouragement and prayer.

Detailed training materials will be provided to help prepare for follow-up efforts.

TIME REQUIREMENTS

Proper preparation requires time. We believe it takes at least one year to plan an effective campaign. This will ensure that everything is in place for reaching the area with the good news.
